NEW MODELS

My good friend Moose made these awesome designs for two boards we made into models with Ian at Blank Surfboards.

The “Mik Fish” is a 5’4 fish that I’ve had for 3 years and still blows my mind in small gutless waves.  It can be ridden up to a 5’7.

The “Gorbi” is a 5’10 that is a bit shorter than my standard 6’1 and bit more stumpi. It’s got a wide squash tail. Perfect for Strand and can be ridden anywhere.

If you looking for boards that will have you ripping waves you would otherwise not surf, these two are your answer.

The action shot is on the Gorbi and the profile is the fish.

Summer Vibes

So summer is returning slowly so I thought I would finally finish an edit I had from last year. It’s from over December time when we were cruising the coast between family and friends. It’s a cool time of year when you eat too much, sleep, read and surf small waves in warm water. Cruising on the sector 9 is pretty cool too. Sunsets are a plenty and beautiful at that. I guess I get to appreciate life a little more as life slows down. Thats why i dig this clip it reminds me of that time of year. It’s so cool how God has created different seasons for you life.  We need to have chill time to balance out the madness

Two weeks until BALI!!

Yes, in exactly 14 days we are scheduled to leave. This is my second trip as  a “Tour Guide” to Bali for some amped groms.

Old School Tow-ins…

Hows this for a great new division for our Longboard contest? Karl and I decided we needed a bit more speed getting into the waves on a small day at pipe. So we used the surf school SUP to give us a bit more whip on the take off. Looks easy but takes a lot of co-ordination from both parties. We plan on doing some more of this, possibly at Dungeons…

Air time!



This is one of my students David Burrows who is 11yrs old doing an air at Strand the other day. Crazy thing is the first time i did an air i was probably 14yrs old. So this kids gonna be flying high with many  years still to go.

How many surfboards are their in a quiver?

No this is not a surf shop or a shapers factory….. This is professional surfer, Taj Burrows’ surfboard shed at his Australian home. Which means he probably has another shed like this at his Balinese home and other sheds wherever else he has a home.

I remember wishing as a grom that a pro surfer would give me one of his boards. I think Taj could give one board away every week of the year and not even blink. Imagine how many people he could bless… Maybe he does give his old boards away or he’s not allowed to. If it was me I reckon all my friends would get my old boards and they’d be stoked.
